About This Lesson

Give your students a solid, intuitive sense of what it really means for a quadratic expression to be positive, negative, or zero. In this interactive lesson, they’ll connect algebra to graphs so they can see how a quadratic changes sign around its zeros. Students will solve inequalities using factoring and the quadratic formula, then write their solutions in interval notation, with plenty of built-in checks to make sure they’re on the right track.

The goal is true understanding, not memorizing steps. Students learn to read the shape and direction of a parabola, test intervals with confidence, and choose brackets or parentheses based on the meaning of each inequality symbol.
